To Install Windows TrueType Fonts:
(Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT 4 will
vary slightly)
- Download your font.
- Chose "Save this file to disk" and click OK.
- Save in Desktop as a WinZip File. Click SAVE.
- Click OPEN in the Download Complete window. The folder
will open in WinZip.
- Double-click the Read Me document. This contains important
information about the license for this piece of software.
- Open Windows Control Panel by double-clicking its icon
in "My Computer."
- Open the fonts panel by double-clicking its icon.
- Click ADD. "Add Fonts" panel appears. Under
the file menu, choose "Install new font."
- Choose the Chank fonts on the Desktop.
- Select Font(s) you wish to install. Click OK.
Hooray! Your fonts should now be installed and appear
in the menu of every application that uses a font menu.
Sometimes to activate your fonts, you need to re-start
your computer.
To Install Macintosh TrueType or Postscript
Fonts
- Download your font.
- A font file (fontname.sea) will appear on your desk top.
If the font file is automatically extracting, a folder will
also appear. If it is not automatically extracting, you'll
see a stuffed file. If necessary, drag the stuffed file
over "Stuffit Expander." (We recommend version
5.5 or higher.)
- Open the font folder and double-click on the Read Me document.
This contains important information about the license for
this piece of software.
- Click on the font files. Truetype fonts will have one
file only (.suit). For PostScript fonts, you will have to
hold the shift key and click on two files (one is the name
of the font, the other is the font name with .bmap after
it).
- Drag the font file(s) over your System Folder.
- Your computer will say, "This item needs to be stored
in the Fonts folder. Put it into the Fonts folder?"
Click OK.
- Your computer will say, "The font suitcase will not
be available to currently running applications until they
have quit." Click OK.
- Quit any programs you have currently running and relaunch
them.
Voila! The new font will be available in your font pull-down
menu.
